Hi all. Trying to help a friend out who has a 2003 3dr and very very skint! Don’t ask! A while back her drivers window broke. While she was down I pulled the door card off and found a broken cable which is why it’s clearly stopped working. Told her to get a used unit and next time she was down I’d fit it. Anyway I was clearing out the shed and found a N/S kit. I didn’t buy it. Can only assume the old man did and it’s got muddled up some years ago. So question is can I pinch the cables out of this kit to fit her O/S window? Looked up the part number S1806 so it’s spurious one. Any help much appreciated to save her a bit of cash as I don’t need it.
I thought that but looking at landrover parts list and microcat there doesn’t seem to be any difference that I can find between 3 and 5 door front mechanisms. Hence my question.
After constantly replacing cables using those kits...I just bought the whole regulater minus the motor for £25 from ebay, Now its as smooth as ever and hopefully will last more than a year.
I told her to buy a whole reg but as said she's skint and as I came across it randomly if it was of use I thought I'd try and be helpful. I'm never likely to need this kit but I'm not paying to fix her Freelander either.
