have a issue real with noisy rear diff or wheel bearings having it checked out tomorrow found a firm called winchester gears offering a reconditioned diff with 12 months warranty for £200 on ebay seems quite cheep compared to others has anyone used got any experience of them

I'd be checking that the noise is actually the diff. They don't generally go noisy as they aren't under much load. You definitely don't want to spend £200 on a diff that doesn't cure the problem. Have you checked the basics first.
Tyres all identical?
Diff and IRD oils clean and not metallic in colour?
VCU tested using the one wheel up test?
VCU bearings not responsible for the noise?

These things should be checked before condemning the rear diff.
 
thanks Nodge i had the vcu and bearings replaced in November with a bell unit checked the diff oil and didnt look to bad but haven't dropped the ird yet as the noise appears to come from the rear but will check tomorrow cheers for the advice
