Hi lads,

Has anyone mounted a winch on a P38? came across this and was tempted to buy one but they all sold out before i got a chance to give it some serious thought.

RANGE ROVER P38 FRONT WINCH TRAY 1994 TO 2002 *GENUINE* on eBay (end time 16-Dec-10 20:48:52 GMT)

also im wondering which winch to buy, i found this ELECTRIC WINCH 12V RECOVERY 4x4 9500 lb WINCHMAX BRAND on eBay (end time 20-Dec-10 19:40:32 GMT) and thought it might be a good one. then im trying to figure out how it will look? im mounting a front A-Bar too so trying to figure out what it might look like. anyone got any pics or seen any pics??

you may want a bigger winch like a 12000lb one (6 tons v 4.75)

thats an interesting bit of writing. make sense really think i will heed your advice on that point thanks.

I bought one of those those 4. Bought it to keep the pattern and help me developping a removable winch box.

I may sell it next year.

ok so it seems i was lucky enough to find a winch tray still new in the box for sale!!

now here is the really hard bit! what winch to get?? im probably only ever going to use it infrequently i dont go off roading every other weekend just maybe use it the odd time. so what should i get?

You are lucky:).
I've seen some primetech on ebay.co.uk with a synthetic rope for very good prices.
Since you want offroad much or do challenge, i can't see the point paying the extra money for Superwinch or Warn winches.

Pays your money and takes your chance.
Super winch, warn are good too.
Goldfish winches seem to get reasonable reviews too.

I would avoid the really cheap winches as your find spares a problem and poor quality too.
