I fitted two in a 2002 90 td5 defender complete with battery cutout and X Charge relay. Tight fit but will go in if you use a twin battery tray plus bolts supplied are to short needs to be studs and 25mm to 35mm longer then bolts you can buy stud and and cut to size. You will need to modify the battery cover. I have photos when I find out how to upload them I will post them.
 
Go to gallery under 90 110 130 you will find photos of C X V-X Battery's X Charge and cut out Switch.
 
what modifications were made to the battery cover? i have two of these numax batteries, which will be going in to the 110. on devon 4x4 they have two different battery trays. are they both the same or different. many thanks

I got 2 on my 96 110, yes i knows its not a 90, but I think it's the same set-up under the front passengers seat.

Mark, Just got a pair of CXV X delivered and looking to put in a tray. do you have any pics?

So far I have run 2 batteries without a tray and zero problems. I even have a split charge and compressor in there. Is there much room left in yours? and how are the batteries for height? they are about 2cm taller than the odyssey 1500's that D44 recommend.

I'll post a pic, asap. Yes in my 110 box there's loads of room, I've a split charge but no compressor. Height wise, there's enough room for me to connect or change the batteries without too much problem.

Jeez man, it is indeed a mess! i wouldnt like to trouble shoot that lot. So there is an X-eng split charge in there, what else?

Is that the standard battery retainer bar or is it something you fabricated or bought?
 
Oh and P.S

Get those dirty orrible chock blocks outta your system aswell mate. You'll have nothing but problems with them when they get old and start shaking to bits. Get the soldering iron out and heat shrink the connections. ;) :)

Standard, but the battery has been extended to take other things.

Yes agree :eek:, I intend to do the whole electrics over the winter.

I dont understand? :confused: Maybe its me not reading it right though!

The retaining bar that goes over both batteries. Is that the origional bar that fits the single battery when new?

I see youve turned the batteries 90 degrees like i have. I just wanted to know if the original bar would fit both my batteries as i have blocks of wood holding mine in place instead! oops! :eek:
