Yes they will fit your D1 as they are D1 seats from an ES. The seats are 10 way adjustable so you will have to install the electrics to be able to adjust them.

would the electrics be easy to do? i.e could your just wire them straight to a power source

The electrics are simple enough the problem is the switches do a search for them. See if you can get a pair and the mounting plates for them, and still have much change for £200 I think you'll struggle.

My mate fitted a set to his 98 300tdi and we used a live supply from a jump start pack to move the seat into position. However once done it Has had to remain that way ever since.

The seats have a motor for each function. up/down forwards/backwards tilt/recline. but the switch reverses the polarity to reverse movement. This makes it extremely difficult to run the motors from a switch as you would need a double pole double throw switch for each motor so 6 in total. and you'll need to be good with elctrics to figure all the wiring out.

just noticed he's selling the switches seperately. if you can get them as well then it would be an easy project.

wouldnt bother me if i could get the seat into one position and then leave it like that but all that wiring sounds complicated!! think i may give it a miss :(

Oh and you'll have to make an adaptor plate up as 300 seats are wider than 200 seats.

was thinking i could maybe get my mate who is a fabby to make me a mounting plate and bolt straight to the floor as i have no need for the seat to move forwards and backwards as i have dog guard and boarding directly behind drivers seat. cheers for the info though pikey :D

I'd keep my eyes open for a set of std leather seats if i was you they'll be a fraction of the cost.
