I was wondering if any of you disco owners could tell me if D2 roof rail bars would fit a 300 tdi disco?.
Many thanks for any help.

D2's are wider than a D1 so I think you'll struggle.

Have you not got the proper 300tdi roof bars? Have a look under your back seat. There should be a long black bag with three roof bars inside under there along with a red jack handle in two pieces.

Not quite. I've got some G4 D2 roof bars on my Disco (same footprint as standard D2 bars) and they fit in the mounting holes but don't quite sit right. They will need some fettling to fit perfectly.

I haven't done it yet. They look okay in the photos but the front seal has a 6mm gap underneath it and the front of the rear seal (where it slopes) has a visible gap.

Option A: The boss that sits inside the circular hole on the roof is too tall so I might try filling around it to allow it to sit further down.

Option B: Extend the mounting holes so that the bars sit a touch further back, possiblt taking up the gap under the front foot.

Option C: Laser cut some 6mm neoprene seals to build up the gap.

Option D: A mixture of A, B and C.
