Why does my '94 300tdi ES disco have a light (not illuminated) which says TC (I pressing traction control?) when it clearly doesn't have that, and it's not listed in the manual? Ideas?

correctgeneric dash display to save making separate displays for different models and specifications maybe

just seemed a bit weird. the light isnt on btw :L i was just checking for all the blow bulbs and wondered what that was. also theres one in the middle at the bottom that looks like its for air suspennsion. ah well. just ignore it and use those bulbs so the speedo lights up

Yeah in which case they make one dash for all different specs and markets - a lot of American cars will have different engine systems etc so you get unused lamps quite often.
Doesn't happen as much these days but early cars were built on the cheap
