but the seller admits to a few patches.
does that equate to needing much more than yet another patch james?

over the years I had simular chats with the banger crowd,
as they/we took nice tin out and smashed to smitherines in a few laps.
but, as I said, if you kept all the older cars, they would be no room left..

good examples of anything are woth keeping,
but badly patched up & chopped examples end up as mobile parts bins in time.

wish I could post photos (dohhh)
but a guy near me has a small yard with ever changing stock of old landies.
seems the good get saved,
mended with the bad ones that get chopped for usable spares.
It one of lifes cycles, but in landies.....

im more than aware of that ,thats why no one saves old discos ,theres thousands of them,but series 1s have mostly been butchered already,it would be nice to keep more than a few out there of 50 year old vehicles for people to enjoy as they were meant to be

I must be honest,
I never "really" like any landie years ago,
I used to service a series 3 (think it was)
used it once to tow my stock car/trailor/spares to a meeting and hated it.
much prefured my old volvo tow car/estate...
but It was not going offroad/muddy to the pits areas so it was just tow it to, then from the race meeting..

now many many years later after owning my disco for 3 odd years I now love landies.
will have to drive an old series again to revaluate my old opinions of them.
Is there still a problem with old mens belly/steering wheel clashing of what I can remember...

only belt work for potatoe riddle and bench saw,pulls a 3 ton trailer,harrows etc ok and a horse plough ,and you can get 40 bags of spuds in one = 1 ton

Just go on the Series 1 owners club site... there are still LOADS kicking around, and a lot of them in very good, original, shiny condition
