Hi,
Looking to get a straight pipe exhaust for my 1994 disco 1, had a look on ebay but thought its best to get your opinion first, would only spend £150 tops to be honest but would like a really throaty sound!

What condition is the rest of your exhaust in ? The reason I ask is that I got a full 'sports' system on ebay for under £100 which included a de-cat front pipe, straight centre pipe and back box. If i'd tried to change just the centre pipe on mine I would have struggled without damaging the joints between the front and rear as they were so rusty.
'Sports' just means louder but that's what you're after and I much prefer the sound now. I find that the back box takes a battering when I'm off-road so I'm planning to put a middle box back in an dump the back box in favour of a straight-through side exit pipe. Might be worth considering this route if you go off-road.
You could ditch the rear silencer or the middle muffler and run that through the rear silencer. The muffler tends to change the sound of the exhaust and quiet it down at the same time but the rear silencer only quietens it down without altering sound. A straight through system running only through the rear box is a good setup and works really well and minimises restriction in the system as well as producing a great sound that isn't obnoxious.
