I've got an E reg 3.5 110. It has a five speed box with reverse over by first gear. Can anyone advise which gearbox I have as I need to replace it and also does anyone have one?
I'm told the layshaft bearings have gone, is it cheaper and easier to change the whole box?
Anybody in the Gloucester area want the work?
Thanks
Daz

it's a version of the LT77.
have a look at Ashcroft's site to find out which one and how much a deecent recom will cost yer.

Reverse up and left is LT77.

However, it is also LT85, which is what is fitted to the V8 cos its stronger, i think youll find.

:)

now I'm confused, I want to buy one (proabably off Flea bay) but do I get an LT77 or LT85?
Cheers

yeah guys this doent actually answer the mans question does it!
Mate you need to goet underneath with a wire brush and give the gearbox casing a clean. If it is all aluminium and a big square thing its a "santana" LT85 which can be very expesive as they are so rare.
If the casing is steel normally painted black then its a normal long stick LT77.
I am in Coleford by the way!

Thanks for all the help on this, I have the LT85, bought a second hand one off Ebay, paid £300 to get it fitted and it was owrse than the one I had taken out. Ended up having the old one rebuilt and refitted. Total cost was nearly £700. Ofcouarse the aby memebr I bought it off was less then helpful.
