Hey up folks just wondered which was the best gearbox for 300tdi have seen loads of autos for sale on ebay just needed to no if they had any major probs or not CHEERS.

dont think you can go wrong with manual
at least if ya get stuck in the mud its your fault not the car

I bought a new one once (silly me) and it went through three auto boxes and one transfer box on warranty. But it ws a VERY bad car (one of those Friday afternoon ones) and may not have been typical. Auto box on my TD5 has done 100 000 miles and no prblems (yet...)

Many thanks looks like its to be a manual then, just needed to check cheers

NOOOOOOOO........... they are crap,orrible shift,poor syncro,crap clutch.
Get an auto,reliable,smooth and so easy in traffic,ace for towing,ace off road.

I must admit the box on my old girl doesnt like to be rushed I can see I will have to test drive one and then decide are there any tell tale signs of impending dooooom and major ££££££££££ I should be aware of CHEERS.
