I decided to change the metal header tank for the genuine plastic one to suit the 200tdi motor. However, I've noticed that the gauge says that the engine is running hotter then before the swap (at the end of the white) and uses a bit of coolant. Any thoughts?

Does the plastic tank make the engine run hotter? I suppose the metal one disperses the heat quicker.

The only plus side is that the heater pumps hot air out!!!!!!!

Mine doesn't. 200tdi with plastic header.

Mine does not run hotter, lose coolant and the heater works just fine!

When I converted from the NA to the 200 I basically swapped everything across.

sure you dont have any leaks, even small ones will make it run hotter, also good expansion cap? simple yhings i know, but its often those that cause the pains
