I have a series 3 though its on its body plate it says a series 2a its details are
as a pick up though it has now a hard top does that affect its insurance?
its chassis no is 24138334G and was first reg on 11/ june 1970 my insurance say its not a series 3 the whole of the interior is as is the bulk of its running parts the rear parts are 2a so is it a early marry or what help please guys?

Late series 2a according to the chassis number....

That said has it got series 3 bulkhead/interior....

Box type screen hinges rather than flat plate type.... Plastic dashboard rather than metal type etc.... Late series 2a's have headlights in the wings same, as s3's and often end up with plaggy s3 grills.
That said the fact that the body type is different doesn't mean jack.....

Could be genuine.... Could be a bag of bits with a tax exempt Id.......

It could have had a series three bulkhead to replace a rotten 2A one. Just enjoy it for what it is and take advantage of tax exempt status. If you mileage is low both series 2 & 3 qualify for classic insurance. Body styles are variable to suit the needs/whims of the owner.

thanks for that it has the box type hinges and a 2a bulkhead and metal dash where did you get the trace on its chassis number from thanks any way.
