I'm going to have to adjust the spacers for the mot (so I'm told) but going to end up with spacer on at some point as I'd like more lock!
Thanks. Daft question - do you fit to all 4 wheels or just a pair for the front?
One thing not mentioned so far in this thread, if you fit spacers it puts additional load on the wheel bearings potentially shortening their working life.
Not wanting to face this issue was one of the reasons I decided to go for 235/85/16 tyres rather than 265/75/16.
any reason you cant do just the fronts? other than aesthetics?
Put the front up on axle stands placed under the axle and not the chassis. After driving around an empty carpark today Ive noticed the wheel only rubs when on full left lock. Full right lock causes no rubbing. So im going to adjust the relevent lock stop before I consider spacers.
So looking at the diagram below, do I loosen the lock nut, then wind bolt in or out?
Do I do this with the wheels in the full lock position, or have the wheels straight and then check the lock afterwards?
When turning the bolt, will I see the wheel turning slightly?
Should it be done with the front lifted on axel stands?

Thanks shifty. Im about to crawl underneath to check it out. So no need to take the wheels off to access the nut?
nope wheels stay on..
try not to snap it like i did:doh:
Handy tip for ya.
Using a spanner to undo nuts works betterer than using a hammer![]()
