I read mixed reports on this.
I have wolfs and im one thread short of being flush,
Got an advisory on mot.
Every landy ive looked at with wolfs inc ex military and ffrs with wolfs fitted have the same issue.
I see i can get longer studs are 60 quid per wheel .... Not happening.
What did you guys all do then to get longer stud ? Someone told me disco studs are longer ? Is this true as i have a disco i could rob - and how are the studs removed to be reused are they not press fit splined then peaned over ?

If you had a wheel nut with a cap on, you wouldn't have any greater thread contact, but nobody would see it wasn't sticking out of the nut.
Longer studs are £78 for 20 from Paddocks and remember folks it's only after the accident that you have issues - Either with the insurance assessor or the courts.

Interestingly, I saw an old series III on sale at John Craddocks last week with two or three threads visible in the wheel nuts. These were the nuts that are chamfered on both faces like the GPO used to have fitted to their Land Rovers, presumably to prevent a careless grease monkey from fitting them with the flat face against the wheel.
Also seen on sale at Craddocks another Series III with it's right hand headlamp miss-fitted so that the beam would shine to one side rather than down on the road surface.
Hopefully, they will be checked over and M.O.T'd before some poor unsuspecting punter gets lumbered with them.

Land Rovers have been coming out of the factory with a thread or so missing when fitted with HD wheels for donkeys years.
It's simply not a problem. Just ignore the advisory.

Or as I alluded to earlier, just fit some wheel nuts like this. Cheap, easy and problem solved on all counts.

Different nuts wont sort short studs, that's not how it works.

Course it does. There is enough thread as is, only some people get funny about it because it doesn't stick through the nut, despite this meaning nothing in real terms. So simply use a nut that has a cap, then nobody can see how far they don't stick through.
LR deem standard studs suitable for many wheels. Just take a close look at some standard ones on factory steel wheels and you'll see plenty don't have stud thread sticking through the nuts.
Of course, this does depend how much or how little thread there is in the nut. But the op doesn't specify nor post any pics.
