my landy garage has advised me not to fit 33/x12.50x15 tyres cos he reckons it will go thru wheel bearings all the time.
is this right?
can it be avoided(without not fitting the tyres) are there any better wheel bearings that will withstand theese wheels/tyres ..or is he taliking cack

it will knock out wheel bearings quicker due to putting excessive loading on them, but it won't be every couple of wheek like some would have you belive

i have had big wheels on mine for 3 years done 35000 miles and my bearings are still good

if you do have to replace your bearings for whatever reason, make sure you use genuine parts as they will last longer than the chinese toffee from paddocks. been running 265/75 for a while and now have 255/85's both without problems. your more likely to knacker bearings buy excess mud plugging at pay and plays... or by fitting wheel spacers.

i does do a lot of play days..currently runnin the 265/75/16 insas..but i do want the 33/12.50/15 as ive now had it lifted..no wheel spacers tho

why are you changing the tyres? 265 insas are around 32 and a bit inches. so your buying a whole new set for 33s?

what engine are you running? go for 35s instead :)

only got the 2.5td was told 35s were a no no as i would go thru ujs and props quicker? dont know how true that is..i do like me insas especially in the mud..

a td may not pull 35s too well. the UJ/prop thing is the same as the bearings really. things WILL wear out quicker when lifting going bigger from standard, thats just something you will have to expect.
