Hi,

There are noises on the car. Sounds like wheel bearings, but unsure if they are wheel bearings.

How can I tell if it's IRD or not, what sort of noises to they make when they fail?

One point to mention, when you go round corners, the noise lessens one way. (to the left).

sounds like the left front bearing,is it noisey when going right ie round a roundabout

It's noisy all the time, but you can change the noise depending on going round a corner or not.

Though I'm far, far away in a distant galaxy from being an expert the change of noise pitch does point toward a wheel bearing issue there old boy..The distinct symptoms of a pending IRD failure can be found in numerous old threads..
