.No problem,tend to lurk a lot usually to convince myself that I can afford a Discovery V8/LPG,cant of course but would very much like one.I like both the old and new Freelanders but think the first revision of 2000-2003 was the best looking inside and out.I think moving the spare wheel from the rear door was a mistake and spoils the otherwise good looks of the FL2,better visibilty without spare wheel there though.Stylewise the first Freelanders are more individual than the FL2's baby Rangerover looks,wonder if there will ever be a 3 door FL2 or an FL2 sport using Volvo's V8..

Well the answers in the way LR describe it ... "The all new Freelander 2".
It's a totally new vehicle.
More fuel effecient.
Better petrol engines. New diesel engine.
All the gadgets.
Bigger.
Taller.
More ground clearance.
No VCU, a Haldex clutch instead - a different solution to providing 4x4 without a diff.
More modern styling. (Noticed that the LR styling department do the front and sides, but just leave the rear to be done by the YTS boy?)

Interesting that in the US they call the Discovery 3 the LR3 and the Freelander the LR2.
Space for an LR1?
