I want to know what eveyone thinks, what do you think is better the v8 or the turbo diesels?
Not talking about certain sizes engine or wether its a td,200 or 300 ext just in general
 
As with so many things 'it depends' ...

I like the diesel for off-roading for it's torque and plodding ability and wading, but love V8 sound and power.
 
Haha much agreed Paul I've had both I liked the diesel cheaper to run good off road and good in water, but the v8 has the sound and the power plus no turbo lag, good off road but is scared by puddles and very thirsty
 
Ahhh I get you know bob no deffinately on the 200tdi seems to be the best of the td's pre 1998
 
I go to competitive trials and comps, the V8's win way more than the diesels and prepped properly a V8 is OK in water. So more powerfu,l more flexible, quieter, smoother and more responsive. If fuel was cheap most of us would run a V8.
 
you could always fit a v8 turbo diesel and have the best of both worlds?;)
