Please can someone advise what size rivets are required in order to fit new mud flap brackets. Thanks.

in case you want to use the original type here you have the part number RIVET > Products Available > Home > Britcar (UK) Ltd you can put any rivet which fits after you drilled out the old ones, i dunno the exact size
