I have to agree in part....

I like a smooth silent cruise...but I do like to hear the V8 gird its loins when I mash the throttle....

The L322 sounds awesome when on form...and so does my 735 (Same Engine Family M62TU) and that is stately until firmly prodded and she will roar at you too in loving response..!! :cool:
 
St...so you have added a BMW to your household?

I used to get 25-30MPG from my P38 DSE. Getting around 18mpg from the L322.

Yep, this is my 4th 7er, my 3rd 735 and 2nd E38.....

Runs on LPG and is as cheap to run as Girlfriends Fiat 500....(aslong as I don't bomb everywhere)

The M62TU engine is the same (albeit smaller CC) as the Range Rover so I have familiarity there.

I am a not only a Range Rover Geek and their biggest fan....I am also mad about E38 Bimmers too...there is just something about these big German barges I adore!

Hey man I've had 3 Bimmers, latest X5, if only I ever come across a cheapish 850 :rolleyes: (might regret but what a beauty) Like the E38 too:)

An old boss of mine had the 850CSi Sport with the 5.6 litre S70B56 V12....

Oh man could that shift...

Had a lend of it for a weekend...7th heaven...such a cruiser, same as you, if I could find one in my price range.....man oh man....

My last trip from Scotland to Worcester ,towing ifor Williams trailer empty to york ,then with disco chassis on it to worcester,then a range rover classic on it aswell all the way home to fife ,total miles around 780,cost £270 on petrol only,great machine never missed a beat,must have been pulling 3 tonne all the way back,motorways most of the way
 
On a good motorway run i can get 22 - even push 23mpg.
Around town i get approx 15- 16mpg
Average for my driving though is around 18. Unless i'm unleashing the V8...which i do on occasion.

I am just an adoring fan is all....masochistic, yes....but I just love the E38's and Range Rovers....

The L322 is the pinnacle for me - it is an E38 BMW (with other elements in the mix) in Range Rover Clothing....I get the best of both worlds!:eek:
