We found this in front of the house.

Does anyone know what make or model of car it's for?

It has no makers logo on it. It appears to be some sort of chipped key.

We are planning on putting a notice on the wall for Monday as we live near a school. It is likely someone dropped it when they were picking up their kids.

just wait till Monay, wait till a few cars are there and press the blipper. if any cars flash their indicators, yu sussed it .

Looks a bit like a pug or Citroën key

I should have added that it doesn't have any buttons on it, it just has a bit of grey plastic where a chip would be fitted.

Looks like it might be a "bump" key do they work on non LR cars as well ?

if its a 4 sided key as it looks like then i have only seen them in citroens, poss xantia

Looks like a Citroen key to me
As its not got a remote button it's most likely to be a van or one of the small cars

or a cheap 2nd key that does the immoboliser but not remote locking.

My mates old Fiat had a key very similar to that.

It's Peugeot Citroen! So yes some fiats were rebadged French crap like the scudo!
