carrying on from my * rust numpty welding thread*

I've flapped the driver's floor and coated it all in Fertan.

so what's next ????

I'll be painting with a brush ........

is this the order ?

Wash off Fertan
Primer
seam sealer
Undercoat
Top coat

I've not done any rust/preventative painting before.

I've googled and it's so complicated - etch primer, zinc, red oxide, do this, do that....... if anyone could help me with .....

1) products
2) number of coats of each

I would be extremely grateful.

I've never used Fertan, but if it says wash it off then do so, wait till its dry (or the seam sealer won't stick) then seam seal the joints and welds, then red primer, then topcoat. If you use Hammerite as a top coat you don't need to prime.
Good Luck

Any primer with zinc in it will help keep the rust back, doesn't really matter what colour especially as this will not be seen.

I don't think you need to wash off the fertan - you need to dampen it down within the first 24H, then wash/brush off the grey powder to prime & paint.
