So the missus has had a bump today (16/11/14), low speed but the guy she's ran into had a tow bar...

I'm not mechanically minded at all, but I'm looking at what it will cost to get the damage that has been done fixed, i.e if its more than my insurance excess I'll get it fixed through that, if its less, I'll get it done elsewhere (recommendations in the Rotherham / Sheffield area appreciated!)

The plastics I'm not worried about, I know I can pick those up relatively cheap, its the area around the bottom of the rad that concerns me.

Is that damage to the actual bottom of the rad. or is it a bent cross-member. If it's the rad. and it's not leaking paint it black so it doesn't stand out, and carry on regardless. Just replace or patch up the plastic bits so everything else looks ok.

assuming it has aircon then that damaged bit is the a/c condensor...if the a/c is getting cold then it still has gas in so although its dented its not leaking?

check the rad at the bottom it will be worth it I should know I had a friend back into mine a few years ago he said he would get me another bumper which he did , I went to put it on an discovered the bottom of the rad pushed in he said he did not hit it that hard and would not take responsibility a few week late the rad went . we no long speak and I would not pass water on him if he was on fire.
