Morning guys.
My P38 2000 4.0 hse has had a bit of an intermittant EAS problem.
Sometimes it's fine and other times it sits at the access level and when I start the truck it flashes to try and get to normal mode. The bottom access light stays lit but the only other light on is the flashing 2nd-from-top normal light.
Now I've had issues with sensors on my older rangie but this was a bit of a mystery as I'd always had the christmas tree - sort of all or nothing.
I connected my laptop and EAS unlock lead but it came up with no faults. When I tried to manually change the height, all I could hear was a click either from the compressor or in that area. Off I went and borrowed a compressor and swapped them over - no difference.
A mate then mentioned about the door switches and making sure the doors were closed. He said about taking the switches out and either replacing them or cleaning them as he'd done on a disco. I knew that the doors had to be shut for the EAS to kick in, however upon further inspection, the passenger door handle was about 1 - 2 mm out. Door shut but handle slightly out. Pushed handle in - hey presto - EAS rose her up lovely.
Now, question is, is it worth replacing the door handles (drivers side is also slightly proud) and if changed, do they need to be reprogramed? Easy job? costly job?
Or do I just make sure the little buggers are closed properly everytime?
