Possible HG failure on the doozle. Worserer more likely thing will be micro fractures. Itl look fine but if you test it with dye looks like a smashed vase all glued back together.

Oh they are lol. Itβs a robust engine. You can tweak them back to health even though their 30 yrs old heads just donβt like too much heat. Was never designed for the weight of a P38 just bunged in there.
Only poorly maintained diesels die of gasket failure and cracked noggins...
The 3.0d bmw one would have been a better choice, especially the first generation. The 38' just missed out on that one
