Hi. Tomorrow's plan is to drain and replace coolant. New to D1 land and seen so many confusing threads re antifreeze so wondered if someone would be kind enough to advise on what type I should use?

Is Halfords any good for such or should I avoid?

I use Halfords OAT antifreeze have done for the last 12 years, the 5 year life before replacing again sold it for me.
Before that it was Rovers antifreeze and replaced every two years.,

Just looked that up on line. See a few positive reviews from LR owners. Do you do 50/50 antifreeze and water? What's the total volume needed?

That's what they say, 50/50 for my cooling system it's 5.5 Ltr. of antifreeze leaving 0.5 Ltr to top-up in the coming five years if required.

If it's the first time u are using OAT then the cooling system needs to be fully flushed, with all traces of the old antifreeze removed.
So I drained and refilled with plain water three times running the engine for a couple of mins in between to circulate the water.
