Hi y'all

Can anyone recommend some axle stands suitable for a P38 (at least 3 ton rating presumably). Been looking on the usual auction site, but they all look a bit on the small side. I assume I need some with a bit more lift than normal.

Anyone know what sort of height I should be looking at?

Thats an easy one, where are you gona put em what height do you want it to go, and how safe do you want to feel layin under them.

I prefer the ones with the little ratchet device, much easier than the pin ones.

Regardless of how safe you think they are you need to block it up with the wheels or sumat in case it falls off, coz they do.

And lastly to jack a landie proper you need a decent jack to get the height.

Well I probably only need it high enough to get the wheels off the ground - that ought to cover most scenarios that I'm likely to need. The ratchet ones on ebay don't seem very high though - I assume I need to put them on the chassis rails....?

Would be quite nice to be safe, so wide legs too.

Big trolley jack is also on the shopping list....

Ooh, the tall ones look like they'd be big enough. How high do they go?

I can't work out how tall I need them to be!

i use them off of my chassis when i do axle swaps even then i only used hole no2 out of 4, the tyre behind them is a 7.50 r16

i will find some pics off it up on the stands

Yup, they look like they're just what I'm after - how high are they though (just so I know what to look for!).
