My Next door neighbor called me over to show me an oily substance on her shoes and where she thinks it came from, its a 26 year old defender and the clutch pedal is drenched with a fine clear oily substance, but i could not see where it was coming from, i think this weekend i will give it a clean up and check fluid levels..

she needs a new master cylinder,often easier to remove complete pedal box to change it

Not a big job, but is will only get worse...

Check the resovoir, otherwise shell be driving down the road and end up with no clutch when its all leaked out.

Took about an hour to do mine from tools out to tools away, also think about doing the flexi hose and slave at the same time, about £40 in OEM parts

had the same its the master cylinder,best to take out the pedal box as stated earlier
