Q 1
I have just booked my Disco 300tdi in for its mot next Monday and my question is this.I have lifted all carpets/sound proofing to have a look for metal worm. The boot pan is need of replacing, rusting through on the left and right hand side.I have a patch to do on the o/f side arch close to the rear seat belt mounting.I have got a couple of patches in both foot wells and drivers side just under gear selecter.A friend is doing the welding and says the boot is a days work and the patches another day.He can only spare 1 day before the mot. With the rear seats removed will it fail or will the front patches be more likely to fail?
Q 2
My horn is not working, purchased a new one.It is the old style with wires running through the steering column.I have cleaned contacts under the air bag.Any help with trouble shooting from steering wheel to horn please?:scratching_chin:

And breath......
Regards
Terry.

you wont fail the mot on the boot floor as its non structural. Get the seat belt mounts done first.

If you remove the seats it will be listed as having 2seats. which will invalidate your insurance.

Why will it invalidate the insurance? When I did the same thing the tester just put an advisory note on the MOT saying that no rear seats were fitted at the time of testing.

Thanks redhand,so concentrate on getting the arch and footwells welded would be the answer?
Any help with getting the blooming horn working?:(

best I can say on this one is dont leave it untell one week befor mot to check things over, thats asking for problems.

I agree uncle albert but running 3 vehicles and a business,2 kids and a wife leaves me little time to do stuff!.:violin:

My 200 tdi passed with the biggest holes you have ever seen on the rear arches, I can live with that cos I will never carry a passenger in the back, and it lets the water back out:rolleyes:
