Ok, so I took the landy on holiday with the trailer and the new tow electrics fitted, all ok, but whilst I was there I thought I'd look at a niggling issue of the trailer light on the dash staying on after having used the indicators. Once ignition is off or once the hazard switch had been used to operate the hazards, the trailer lamp would go out.
I fitted a new hazard switch and a new prc8876 relay. Now the trailer light flashes with the indicators, trailer connected or not. But when the ignition is on, the relay clicks quickly even though the hazards or indicators are not activated. If I turn the head lights on, the clicking slows. If I use the indicator stalk or hazards, they work fine, but the trailer light always blinks with the indicators. If I remove the trailer dash bulb, the clicking from the relay stops, hazards and indicators work as they should.
I've tried 2 other hazard switches with no change to this issue. Anyone else had a similar experience?
It's on a 110 300tdi with filament bulbs not led.
