Once you have taken a little out, add some white spirit (or similar - diesel would do too), good for getting it to run into all the little nooks and crannies in the chassis.
I did my first internal coat with a good bit of white spirit in it, sprayed it in with a shutz gun and didn't stop spraying until a brown mist appeared from the holes at the other end of the chassis.
Let it dry for a bit then give it a sort of proper thick coat. It was much easier for me because at the time it was a rolling chassis and there were LOTS of places to get the waxoyle in.
You can even do your bulkhead if you take the bonnet stop bungs out the front of the bulkhead, you can get that channel section which will run down the door pillars, then you can get some more in from the bottom and the interior light door pillar switch hole. Give areas where the wheel spray hits a good clean so it adheres were and isn't easily chipped off and give it a few coats.
Preparation is probably more important that putting the stuff on, get it really clean, jet wash, wire brush, jet wash again, or take it to your local truck depot and get them to steam clean it for you, or give them £10 and get a shot of the machine.
Any rusty areas, sand/grind down to bare metal and give it a few coats of a good primer.
You can do your axles with waxoyle too.

Protect from frost.
When stored in the recommended manner, a small
degree of footing of the product may occur over
time but this will not detract from the performance
of the fluid in service.

Guidance on Health and Safety are available on
the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet, which
can be obtained from your Shell representative.
Protect the environment
Take used oil to an authorised collection point. Do
not discharge into drains, soil or water.
