If your headlights fill up with water when wading it doesn't matter wether they are on or off. The next time you corner hard or hit a bump with your headlights on, the cold water will splash onto the hot headlight bulbs and blow em to pieces.:doh:

if they are off then they aint hot and they wont get Blown to pieces?

You turn them on to dry out the water in the lamps....

You can get the halogen headlamp bowls without the hole for the sidelamps, but you could just seal it up with silicon and gaffa tape.
