Ordered a 300tdi gearbox crossmember from our local `expert` 4x4 shop for £58 a week ago. It came today, but it is round, not box section. So its going back for a refund. The cost of the one we really want is, (after VAT), £170 odd ......
So, we have three choices.....1) ask you guys if any one has a good condition one to sell on, or 2) if thats a no-no, put a call out to breakers or 3) get on and weld one up.
So stage 1.......Anyone got one please?

(not sure if this should be in the `for sale` section. I expect someone will tell me)

I just had a look on Paddocks.... the only one they do seems to be round as well. LR515 Gearbox X member - 90
Any reason why you need a box section one? I don't know myself... just wondering if the round one would do the job?

Mine is box section. My mate, who its for, took a round one off his `89 n/a 2.5 and feels this is the wrong one. Does the box section have bolt on to gearbox facility??
I`ll mention the TD5 one, thanks for that. If he`s interested I`ll get back to you, cheers.

the paddocks xmember is for lt77 not r380, td5 one is the same as 300 - mountings for the gearbox rubbers on the back of the box section. looks to be the same as 300 disco

Phoned all your comments to my mate, which he thanks you all for, especially info from bmp42.
However, unbeknown to me he`s been to a breakers this p.m. - without any luck. So decided to buy the steel he needs and is gonna weld one up himself.
