I have read that when wading you should fit wading plugs to the engine. When I go wading with frineds, none of us use wading plugs. Would this cause any damage, and what are they for. Cheers for any advice

yer gort a drain hole in yer bellhousing, this allows any oil etc to drain out before it gets so bad yer clutch gets kanckered. when yer go wading yer dint really want water and mud and frogs getting in there so yer bung a wading plug in it

...well said that man. depending on your motor you may need another one on the cover for your timing belt.

you lot got extended breathers? how deep you wading?

Thanks slob, Ive got the extended breathers on mine as its an ex mountain rescue 110, but as its only a petrol I have only ventured up to the head lights once or twice. The other lads are mainly in diesels, but as we go to hill and ditch now an again which is an old disused sand stone quarry im thinking the sandy water is going to cause havoc with the entire drivetrain.
