Would like you to let us know how it goes, load of people start threads but they don't tell us when they find the problem.

Indeed. I do try to back and finish threads. Unfortunately, this problem has been overtaken by other issues with the car (e.g. a coolant leak into the drivers footwell which refuses to go away, despite changing the heat exchanger O rings twice and then the exchanger itself) so is now on the back burner.
 
Its a warped disk, when you brake and hold the brake pedal right to the end of stopping you can feel a slight pulse comming back.

Worth checking proper operation of brake calliper sliding pins. They can get stuck with rust and the result is usually a warped disk.
