my 1991 disco has developed a vibration for 40mph to 45mph,replaced all the uj's,replaced front output shaft bearing, checked the rear one all ok,had the wheels ballanced, still got the vib's.
any one got an idea what could be causing it.
cheers celtic.

have you tried steering damper? replaced sally's and that stopped her vibrating.
meant to say, that was of course AFTER wheel balancing, changing and checking all the bearings, disbelieving looks from FIL as i tried to explain it......
i keep finding problems with my disco that as an ex raf mechanic he's never heard of, andd therefore don't exist until we find a solution to it..

Even the bloke at AL said it sounded strange...

has it always had it?
did you check the splines on both props?
did you check uj's on both props are aligned?
nrg

Hi all
answer to some of the questions,it's manual,no i have not always had the vibration i will check the uj's for allignment.

Could be a buggered tyre even?

I know it's weight balanced, but I guess you would still feel a lump or flat spot in a tyre...?

yeh i was thinking along those lines, will take the disc into my tyre dealer and get the tyres checked and the wheels ballance again.
