2500 litres of svo a year with out declareing.
Quick back of fag packet calculations shows that to be around 17'500 miles per year if you are adding 20% diesel.
Might have to look into this.
2500 litres of svo a year with out declareing.
price of veggie oil to day just as cheap to run on diesel
I was given a small drum of oil (40ltr maybe?)
I want to just bung a bit in now and then just to use it - what can I filter it with? Must be something I might already have/really cheap as it defeats the object otherwise...
I will keep the mix mostly diesel![]()
as has been said already 2500 liters before the taxman needs to be informed so dont forget how much you use lol
Some one on here above has suggested sieve it and then let it settle and has used this technique successfully.
There are various filters on eBay which I thought I might try- this one is cheap:
Biodiesel svo wvo Filter Bag 16" long) Green Team on eBay, also, Other Business Industrial, Business, Office Industrial (end time 23-Mar-09 17:58:53 GMT)
Another one I have heard is to use old tights...
.Really, thought it would be tother way around on the percentage? Im no expert at all but that is a kinda harsh mix...............
However i could be well wrong an all!!!!!

Exactly my thoughts,
Thats far too much veggie oil.
It ain't going to last.
You should be looking at, in the cold weather, 30% oil, and 70% ordinary diesel.
If your going to try 90% oil, and 10% diesel, be my guest.
I am sure we are all waiting to see the outcome.
Pretty much the same here. I did the same with a 2.5td as well with no problems and all the "experts" say that engine won't cope with it. 200tdi's definitely have no problem with veg oil.i ran 100% svo for 6 months with 0 problems as the temps dropped it needed help starting is the only thing i found
200`s all the way, , , , , , ,200tdi is the best,It is not too refined and deals with the heaveir viscous properties of veg better.Use rape seed oil if ya can cos its the thinnest. The engine will get a good clean out by the veg so have a set o filters at the ready.
..... then heat to thin,.......
