ive got a s3 88 and its slitty diesel the now but quite slow and i fancy either a v8 or 200tdi just to make hills easier

what mpg do you get out of the v8 driven sensibly? and what v8 is the best out of the rover selection? and what manual box goes on the v8?

would have thought 300Tdi make more sense on the hills?
Two very different beasts. Best thing to do would be to try each and see which one you prefer. Travelling any distance a quality LPG conversion on a V8 makes sense on the bank balance.
V8 vs Tdi. its a bit like a question like...

Well the 200 tdi is a straight fit into the s3 diesel. So easier to do than the v8

Put a 200 tdi and change your diffs to early RRC ones and the truck will go alot better and not cost a fortune in fuel

it would have to be 200 if i was gan doon the oil burner route but whats the best v8 from 3.5 -4.6???

im pretty sure the 300 tdi wouldnt beat my v8 on the hills

me personally i would never touch a v8 with an lpg conversion

Ya mentioned the ability to pull n climb hills so said 300Tdi rather than 200Tdi cos its got more power n torque, and generally more refined?
Black shoes might look a bit silly where brown shoes are required. That was m point
