Happy Easter all

Hi all I have a 4.6 v8 and on the left side of the block there is a kidney shaped connector which appears to be redundant but I have a coolant leak from it question is does this come out easily and how do I stop the leak any help welcome thanks chaps

Come on Saint be nice I have had a hard day :) it is like a heating element can I replace it with something or how is it fixed in

it's useless without pics. it could be the frost plug, but i think it's usually round and about 1-1.5 inches in diameter. methinks it's just pressed in. but never heard of them leaking...

Yep thanks guys sorry bit knackered just took the dash out and replaced the heater matrix but I will go and take a pic it looks like a little kettle element so think it should be able to be replaced with a core plug
pics on the way

that would sound like a non std preheater that fits in place of a core plug ,its is basically a kettle element ,if you fit new core plug ,loctite edgeand hammer in with loose fittin socket so its just in below machined surface

James thank you for the life of me I cant find how to post pics but yes thats what it looks like and fairly sure it is non standard the engine was a landrover replacement well I bought it from a landrover dealer when they were getting rid of the p38 spares it seems to be about 38 mm so 1.5 in so hopefully can get one from the motor factors up the road tomorrow

Hi Gents all done it was an inch and a half put in with locktite and it replaced a heating element which had never been used
Thanks for the help
