Havent done a V6, are there two belts involved? Would sure love to try..
Maybe someone can confirm if RAVE CD covers the V6, I know Haynes manual for the Rover 75 has the V6 covered.
If the 1.8 k-series is anything to go by, its a doddle.
Heres some DIY tools for the 1.8 k-series.

Should be the same spec on the timing belt front....did all the V6 come with AirCon,????
think so - air conn an auto - why?

Wont make any differenece to the timing belt length/spec........but if he's going to do the timing belt, he might as well do the auxillary ones too.
Certainly for the 1.8, there is a longer auxillary belt to incorporate the air con unit, than non-air con models

Yes you need special tools. the home mechanics took 3 weeks to change my timing belt because he had to wait till the tools free in LR dealer.

I've done the main timing belt without the tools and its alot quicker than fart arsing around with the tools. The rear belts though, do need the tools.
To do the main timing belt, strip it all down to access the belt then get someone on the front bulley with a ratchet. Turn the engine while cutting the belt along its length with a sharp stanley kinife, once you've gone all the way round, pull off the outer part of the belt, fit the new belt as far on as you can get it then cut the remaining part of the old belt off then push the new belt fully on. easy!!! And no **** arsing about timing it up which is a 3 man job and alot of swearing when trying to get the belt on.
