I have a 2001 freelander v6 auto , after 10 to 15 miles the car loses power and cuts out when I try to accelarate, the car then has to be re started and is ok for a couple of miles more then does it again , after i leave it for a few hours it is ok for another 10 to 15 miles and then does the same again. I have had the oil level in the gearbox checked and the gearbox was re-built at 50k the car has now done 57k......help !!!!!

have I missed the point here? Why do yu think the gearbox has anything to do with your new problem?
It sounds like a fuel/electrical fault.

Hi mad man , i am no expert on this sort of thing , I am asking for good advice from the people who should know , what do you think I should go for first ???? thanks.

yup - Mondeo can be a bit exasperating at time - its coz he has got shot of his Hippoo - he is still suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

As I sed most likely fuel/electrical. I had a similar fault and it was found to be dodgy electrical connectors under the engine fuse box. It could be almost anything.

oooo - i have to say i thought it was funny too - but then you wouldnt know - i got rid of my Hippoo too - got a Nissan - never looked back:)

Oh, the 'moving gif' in me signature. Weren't funny. See Mondo, that wuz funny, you, yer just tetchy.
