How the Range Rover became a £120k luxury car | Autocar

"Here’s a treat for Range Rover enthusiasts, on the day that the amazing Mk4 is unveiled. This is the experimental V12-engined Mk2 Range Rover, originally intended to be launched in 1999 by then-owners BMW. It was, perhaps, the first attempt to exploit the Range Rover as a proper luxury model."

Must have been something very interesting to drive... The last V12 I drove was the DBS, but a V12 4x4... Yummy!

So why dint they put it into prodution?
That would put the mighty overfinch to shame
As they had trouble designing a cooling system to keep a V8 cool, or the M51 for that matter, it probably overheated on the first lap of the test track and had to be towed back:rolleyes:

I am gonna have to consult my books when I get home - I am not sure if they ever actually made one....and what we see is just a mock up of bits put in but not bolted together.....

So what we see is indeed a mock up and no doubt the engine bay pics (which show a different body colour btw) are a photoshop mock up...

Didn't think they actually built one...
