thats wot i wundered - but he said off the coils!
are we talking coils here or coil packs. coils only have 1 ht terminal to feed the distributer whereas coil packs are sort of coil and distributor all rolled into one, i think a clearer explaination is needed![]()

i understumbles here, i think - but the R*** disk only shows as per my fust post - not sprisin i didna understand. I only posted wot it sed!
they're coil packs, same ****, different name, the ecu switches them via an earth, the same as a distrubutor does
oh clutchy you have seriously let me down, i had you down as an ecpert, a coil pack is nothing like a coil except for the fact that it eventually provides a spark. for one a coil is cylindrical and interchangeable with other cars, a coil pack is unique for the vehicle it is fitted to. c'mon clutchy i hold you in higher esteem than that![]()
so if they have four towers on each then the ht leads come direct off there to the plugs thus eraddicating the need for a distributor
