Grrr.. I bought 4 replacements to try n sort out my sloppy drive.
I removed the props n got 1 old UJ off. I have now knackered 2 new UJ's trying to replace.. I tried it my way (whatever that is) n I tried Busters way but still the feckin pins keep falling out when banging the cups in place.
What a bloody stressy job..
Any tips..?

have you tried fitting one cup then fit spider fully in to cup press cup till nearly right the yoke this means you can fit the other cup and have spider in both whilst you press 2nd into place

And make sure yokes are thoroughly cleaned and deburred first.

why are you banging the cups,they should be pressed into place.

put some grease on your finger and add a bit more to hold needles in place

vice ,or g clamps ,try pressing it through to enable the spider to be located in both

I use a large vice, hi lift can be used as light press too

thats why you are having big trouble,the shock of hitting the cups dislodges the rollers.when you press the cups in there is no shock on the cups.

I use I big vice most of the time, sometimes its just easier to use a press

jp i have extracted old ujs and reused when needed..

i do not have a press just a vice...its very easy you just need to be gentle and ffs dont hit em....

Why is it I can write ok when I can hardly stand up..?

I have me a big G clamp but I cannot get enough pressure on it. I have de burred the edges with a half round file, but I think I will smooth the insides with some wet n dry.
I been using loads of grease to hold the needles.
Gonna try again later with me hangover, can't wait..

+1 I did the ones on the 110 rear prop exactly like this and they were tight as fooking hell.. Needs a big vice to do it easily though.. Tho a LARGE G clamp will suffice in an emergency.

Put the spider in the cup Needles can't fall out then.

line em up straight with a socket to press the cups in with the clamp..

push em right throuigh but fit the circlip your pushing up too first.

I tried that, like Buster shows in his tutorial, but I had trouble getting the other cup in n I had to wack it so bloody hard the end of the needle cup broke off.
I will see if anyone has a big enough vice I can borrow.. Just thought, we got a carpenters vise here somewhere, that might do..

I did it witha vice. Britpart ujs kept cracking the cups. Bastids. Patience is key if a roller moves yer ####ed. So hitting it dont sound wise. And grease is good at holding everything still. And making everything else slippery as ####.
