just replaced uj, all going fine got the prop part done but can not get the uj in far enough on the yoke to fit circlip the cup wont go down anymore. none of the rollers have moved they are proper HS ones. sure this happened last time also and i ended up bining it and put another on. Am i doing something wrong?

its possible youve dislodged a roller ,if you put yoke in a vice with a socket inside against bearing cup both sides you can whack yoke wider a little if its not a roller

took it apart and rollers were all fine. when i fitted it i took the cups off, and put some more grease in to make sure rollers didnt move, pushed in one cup in the vice then put the cross in and put on the other cup and pressed together in the vice then taped rest of the way with a socket. is this correct way?

shouldnt put extra grease in but fit one cup on spider ,then hold fully engaged while you push cup till it nearly pops out of inside of yoke then you can fit circlip then other cup over spider then push back till other cup hits circlip

I had this problem before. In may case it was because I had ordered the wrong one. Not all UJ's are the same. What vehicle do you have?

I've also ordered the wrong one before, spent ages trying to get the bleedin thing in before realising. They changed the size at some point.

2001 td5 last ones before they put on wide angle props. part no is rtc3458g sure these are correct as i have one i bought last time.

Did you take the grease nipple out? With the extra grease, if you dont let the pressure out by taking off the nipple then it will restrict compression
