Got the Freelander at the weekend, in need of new shoes at the front, Can you advise as to what to put on her?

She has 215-65-16's on at thew min, are these the correct ones? or would you advise any others?

these will be on road mostly....

I was astonished by the insurance costs……£12 a month

Yes that is the standard size for the 16" rim

You can go to a 70 or even 80 profile for a bit of lift !!

Personally Im a fan of matching rubber all round but whatever you get, if youre only getting 2 - stick em on the rear !!!!!

I've got some Goodyear Wrangler AT/R's on her. Works pretty fine for me. And they look nice too...

I have the standard 60's STR's on mine. What sort of lift do the 70 or 80's give?

Sure ill be corrected if Im wrong but I think you ll get about 1" to 1 1/2" lift with the higher profile tyres

ive got bridgestone dueler h/t on the front and cooper discoeverer a/t on the rear(incase i get stuck)195/80/r15.
in a few thousand miles ill have coopers all round,nice tyres http://www.coopertire.co.uk/tyres/tyreselector?tid=206&tid_1=All&tid_2=191&tid_3=All

Like the look of these tyres. Assuming all 4 the same, does the higher profile have any bad effect on the transmission?
