Have you seen Limerick beach? Its not quite like the desert :D They will be just fine.

Let me assure you.... I completed the 'mud run' at Newark 3 times last year in standard General Grabber tyres...the factory fit on the fairly latest 90's. I broke a shock, dislocated a spring, never got all the mud out of the engine, chassis and wouldn't do it again:).... been there, done that.
 
I have Maxxis mudder buckshots. They're great on and off road but are probably more off road. I have 285/75 x 16s but they are big so for normal driving i would say go smaller. :D

I was told it's about 6% on 285/75x16s but I could never be bothered to work it it out. In fact I think I'll find a calculator and do it now :D
