Another way is to cover your face in gravy browning, wear a long robe and silly cap. You don't get bothered for anything then.:D:D:D

yeah but the problem is what would you do with all the hand outs that the council will insist you have

Get out before the Muslim revolution takes the country over:eek::eek::eek:
Well we spend all August in France and at least 10 long weekends every year and it gets harder to come back to England each year my bloody council tax is now £380 quid a month and now they are trying to only collect rubbish once a fortnight in France they come twice a week for general and once a week for recycling and the blokes are pleasant and speak
I nearly bought in the Vendee airpark but it was too formal for me and probably full of tw*ts

I've got a mate who lives in Argenton Les Vallees, 79150
Is that anywhere near you? It's lovely round there.
Is it me or do the French love playing darts? Next to eating and drinking it seems to be the national past time!

79150 is in the Deux Sevres, I'm in 86190 the Vienne, it's all part of the Poitou Charente so it can't be far away. I'll look it up on viamichelin. Just checked, it's 67Km north of me.
Never seen anyone actually playing darts although I've seen a few bars with dart boards:D

Funnily enough I used to live in West Sussex.

I know what you mean, the little house I sold in the UK is £2K a year in council tax for sweet FA it was up a farm track so no services.
Here I get a bill for €1200 which covers 4 houses, 2 habitable 2 not and a big barn. And I get a rebate automatically based on age and income, no forms to fill. Bin collections only once a week in rural non holiday areas and take your recycling to the local bins. Take literally anything in any sort of vehicle to the village decheterie (Tip) I've been with my tractor and a 6 tonne tipping trailer full of old plasterboard, rubble etc. Maire is helpful, planning is a breeze.
South of the Loire tends to have better weather.:D:D:D:D

Datatek, is it legal to run on home made biodiesel in France. I run my vehicles on home made bio and I am considering a trip with the caravan this year. I normally carry an extra 80 litres with me when I travel so would like to know how I would stand if stopped especially as my French is not good.

£380 council tax!!! I thought ours was bad at £280... What do you live in a mansion?

If all this stuff about the MOT and type approval is correct, there are going to be a lot of non standard non type approved wheels for sale on Ebay soon.

My old P38 did not have the correct load rating tyres! They had a max of 1000kg.

I honestly did not realise until a month or so before I sold it.

It passed 2 MOTs with them and the walls were slightly cracking.

Having the correct tyre should be part of the MOT.
