has anyone fitted a 'better' turbo that the landrover 200/300 one?

ive put a 300tdi into my series 3 but the engine i bought had a u/s turbo - ive got a 200tdi exh manifold with a flange on so i can fit any flanged turbo

i can't straight fit an landy one anyway as my engine is too far back so even a landrover one will need a mount making up so i was thinking i could fit one off something else

i had a look but i can't find much info other than people buying new upgrade vnt kits and i'm talking budget here

anyone had any success with anything else and what was it off???
